Few days ago, I was speaking to an ex-colleague of mine who
is working in CIMB Bank.
No retrenchment or pays cut what so ever for their existing
CIMB employees, she says.
Yesterday, CIMB announced offering extended unpaid leaves to
its employees.
Extended Unpaid Leaves ???
That's amounting to Pay Cut, ... HUGE PAYS CUT.
Good Luck, my dear friend...We all need it.

Qing Ming Festival - 清明節
This year Qing Ming Festival (清明節) or Ching Ming (in Cantonese)
falls on 4th April 2009.
For those not familiar with Qing Ming Festival, it is a time where
family members get together, visit the graves of our ancestors,
clean those weeds around the graveyard and perform some prayers.
For more information about the festival please visit the following
link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ching_Ming_Festival
We are allow the flexibility of performing veneration 10 days
before and after the Qing Ming Festival.
That's is according to my mum in which she says its according
to ancient custom.
The crowd as been shrinking by the years as older members of
the family cannot make it through the tough terrain heading
toward our great grandparent graves.
After the death of my 3rd & 4th uncle, in 2006 & 2008
respectively, I am expecting even a smaller crowd.
But this time around, there is a little surprise.
My cousin brothers bring along their kids.
The kids share the same family name and in future the kids are the
one who going to continue the traditional of Qing Ming.
Hey, but they all speaks Mandarin and English and very little
Cantonese.
Can my great grandparents understand what they say when the
younger of their grandsons or grand daughters "speak" to them?
By the way we are from Canton. Now call Guang Zhou in China.

Nice Song from Hong Kong Artist
This one is from the uprising Hong Kong TVB actress - Linda Chung
I have the lyrics but not the link to the mp3.
Will update this post when I found one.

Departmental Forecast
My MD needs all his Dept to submit Dept Performance and
Forecast Report twice a month.
That is every 2nd & 4th Saturday every month.
Tomorrow is the dreaded meeting.
This time round we need to submit a new report format,
hopefully the report we constructed has what he wants.
All the best and good luck to my fellow partners, colleagues
and myself.

Software From China
I am working on a machine from China.
Haven't get the machine yet but already corresponding with
China to get the drivers for the machine.
Since some components of the machine are manufactured by
them, they wrote these drivers as well.
Of course they also sent me the DLL files to work with.
(Header files, LIB, etc)
Once get hold of the DLL files, I start looking at their H files.
Alas, way off my expectation.
I wonder if they can be used at all????
Expecting HELL !!!
